“British drone racing reaches next level with help and guidance from BMFA”

Don’t miss the cream of the crop of British drone racing at this year’s BMFA Nationals. Seek them out as they fly their lightning fast racing drones by First Person View (FPV). Experience for yourself this captivating new strand of our hobby, ably staged by the body representing the British Drone racing scene the British Drone Racing Association (BDRA) a BMFA specialist body.

We dare say you’ll be amazed at the pilots’ skills and just how far FPV drone racing has come in a short time.

The presence of drone racing at this weekends event is more than just another exciting thing to see. It’s a celebration of a lot of hard work behind the scenes between the BMFA and BDRA. Hard work that has resulted in a set of rules and guidelines for drone racing which comply with BMFA expectations. This was important, as it provides a template for consistently safe drone racing across the British isles and provides consistency across the model disciplines.

It also opens the door for the first time to field a team of British drone racing pilots at FAI World Championships later in the year. Indeed this weekend’s racing will determine which pilots win the much coveted FAI seats. So as you watch the pilots there couldn’t be more at stake!  As Benjamin Blackburn, Chairman of BDRA comments: “We are enormously grateful to the BMFA for their help in getting us to FAI Worlds. I’m therefore delighted that we could stage this event here at the heart of model flying, the BMFA”.

So be sure to swing by the drone racing while your here. The pilots are a friendly bunch and always happy to share their enthusiasm for all things FPV.
